TEC-MED is an acronym for a Development of a Transcultural social-ethical care model for depended population in the Mediterranean Sea basin.
The participating countries are Spain, Italy, Greece, Lebanon and Egypt.
The initial and fundamental objective is the promotion of social inclusion while fighting against poverty.
The principle goal combines the following specific objectives:
- Intervention framework improving social enterprises operations and collaborations with public administration in the implementation of actions that improves social care conditions of elderly population having economic and social integration difficulties
- Validation of a model with 6 pilot actions (each for any participating country) by involving social enterprises, citizens and public administrations
- Software solutions via a governance model enabling exchange of information on country-based initiatives to facilitate social inclusion of elderly at risk and cross –country analysis for effective comparison
The duration of the program is from 26th of September 2019 till 25th of September 2022.
The financial support is offered under the umbrella of the European Union which contributes the 2.9 million out of 3.3 million which is the total budget for the TEC-MED model.
What is important is that the model is innovative and promises major evolutions as far as the high-quality of everyday life of the Elderly are concerned.
